About the company

M Borman Building Projects is a CIPC-registered Pty Ltd serving Cape Town's Northern Suburbs and Cape Flats. We handle residential roofing, tiling, paving, repairs, and outdoor builds — the everyday work that keeps homes safe, dry, and looking the part.
Every other Cape Town homeowner has a contractor horror story. A roofer who took the deposit and vanished. A "handyman" who left the bathroom worse than they found it. A company name that doesn't exist on CIPC and a phone that goes dead two weeks after the invoice.
The company was built to be the opposite of that. We're registered (Reg 2025/776861/07). We quote in writing. Variations are signed off, not slipped in. Workmanship is guaranteed in the contract. The site is left swept, off-cuts removed, and the job isn't closed until the homeowner signs off.

Do I have to pay anything to get a quote?
No. Quotes and site inspections are free. We only invoice once you've signed off the written quote and we've started work.
Are you NHBRC-registered?
NHBRC registration is a legal requirement for new home construction in South Africa. The services we offer (roofing, repairs, tiling, paving, braai installation, appliance repairs) sit outside that scope, so NHBRC registration isn't required for our work. If your job needs an NHBRC-registered contractor, we'll tell you upfront and refer you on.
How do you charge — by the hour, by the job, or by the square metre?
It depends on the job. Tiling and paving are usually by the m². Roofing and braai installs are typically a fixed quote. Smaller repairs are by the hour plus materials. Whatever it is, you'll see the breakdown in writing before we start.
Do you give a guarantee?
Yes. All workmanship is guaranteed. The warranty length depends on the job (longer for new roofs, shorter for small repairs). The terms are spelled out in your written quote.
Do you require a deposit?
For larger jobs (roofing, paving, full braai builds) we ask a deposit to cover materials. For small repairs, we invoice on completion. Either way, deposits are paid into the registered company bank account — never into a personal account.
How fast can you start?
Small repairs and inspections — usually within a few days. Larger jobs depend on the schedule and materials lead times. We'll give you a realistic start date in the quote, not an over-promise we can't keep.
